Storybook Movement & Dance Workshops
Come explore the magic of ballet through movement, music, and more! Storybook Movement & Dance is an engaging introduction to the world of ballet and theater for young dancers with or without prior experience. Each day consists of age-appropriate dance instruction, a themed craft, a healthy snack, and story time. The workshop will culminate in a mini-performance for parents.

July 6-10 Sleeping Beauty
This familiar fairy tale comes to life through the unforgettable music of Tchaikovsky and a colorful cast of characters, most of which you won't see in the Disney movie! Students in this workshop will get to explore the many (many!) fairies and fairy tale creatures featured in this ballet (did you know Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf attend Aurora's wedding?) through improvisation and structured dance.

August 3-7 A Midsummer Night's Dream
Everyone like a good joke, and nobody jokes like Puck, the servant of the Fairy King Oberon. At his king's behest, Puck creates magical mayhem among fairies and mortals alike using a flower that has the power to cause love at first sight. Shakespeare's renowned comedy about human folly and mistaken identity is perfectly complemented by the whimsical score by Felix Mendelssohn. Students in this workshop will explore this story of hilarious hijinks while also learning about the importance of using our own "magic" only for good.
